Ullacombe Farm Shop – Bovey Tracey

This Halloween we were delighted to be invited to an event at Ullacombe Farm Shop for local crafts men and women to display and sell their works. I’ve taken a few snaps and written a little review of this dog friendly establishment.

Ullacombe Farm Shop has been under new ownership since spring 2015 and a lot of hard work has gone into building renovations and the publicising the shop, restaurant and events.

Despite its Dartmoor location Ullacombe Farm Shop is easily accessible on the main road between Bovy Tracy and Haytor (B3387), around 10-15minutes from the Trago Mills roundabout. The farm shop is just two miles from Haytor so is the perfect stop-off after a walk with the hound up on our beautiful moors.

Ullacombe is 100% dog friendly and welcomes dogs in all areas including their restaurant. The menu consists of home cooked farm-shop produce all listed at very reasonable prices. Visiting the cafĂ© made me decidedly peckish and I have promised myself a lunch there soon! On a Sunday, roast dinner is offered and this seemed to be a very popular option. They even sell some handmade natural treats for dogs too!

The Halloween fayre which we were invited to attend was well organised and included apple bobbing, a pumpkin carving competition and staff in some spooky fancy dress costumes. Check out some of these pumpkins, they’re awesome!

The Halloween fayre took place in their newly renovated barn which is now available to hire for personal events. Complete with fire and ambient lighting, it’s a lovely venue.

There was a large variety of crafts stalls to browse including a wood turner, glass painter, homely gifts from Sandra at  Autumn Skye and some beautiful local ciders from Sara at Ashridge Cider.

We had a fantastic experience meeting other like-minded people and thoroughly enjoyed looking around Ullacombe Farm Shop. We are stoked to be visiting again soon for their Christmas Event on Saturday 28th November where we shall be show-casing our up and coming Christmas bandanas and gift sets….In the mean time we will be making our way to Hay Tor for a walk and a ‘Roastie’ at Ullacombe very soon!
